On Thursday, September 26, 2019, Roto Frank of America’s HR Manager, Sylviana Lopez, attended a Manufacturers Meet & Greet at Gateway Community College called Skill Up for Manufacturing. Six manufacturing companies were asked to attend to highlight current hiring needs. After brief introductions, students were able to submit resumes for consideration and obtain valuable contact information, while showcasing their talents and enthusiasm.

Skill Up for Manufacturing was an event was put on by Workforce Alliance, who develops and oversees comprehensive, community-wide responses to the challenges of building a highly skilled workforce.

Manufacturing is rising in CT, but there is a gap in skilled labor. Events like this are essential to bridging that gap.
