“Over the course of the year, Roto Frank Window and Door Technology (Roto FTT) has proved that it is the best partner for its customers.” This is how CEO Marcus Sander described Roto’s work at their 20th International Trade Press Day. Regardless of the conditions impacting the construction industry, the hardware supplier proactively collaborates with customers to develop new windows and doors with special hardware and weatherseals. “Roto FTT is the perfect match because we tailor our solutions to meet each customer’s unique needs. Whether it’s product design, production efficiency, or goods management, we ensure our customers are taken care of.”
In many markets, there is a growing interest in automated solutions, security, and high operating convenience. Roto FTT caters to this development with comprehensive system expertise in all frame materials and opening types. In addition to Roto FTT’s product expertise, window and door manufacturers continue to value its first-class delivery performance. The continuous process optimization of all 18 plants and 31 logistics and distribution centers ensures efficient organization of production and supply chain, enabling a rapid and reliable response to customer needs worldwide.
“We attribute our steadily growing market share to the quality of our services and our product range,” concluded the CEO. “Roto is a reliable partner offering high product quality, innovative strength, and international presence.” Sander demonstrated the flexible and customized approach Roto FTT takes to tailor its products and services to customer requirements.
The Canadian company Cascadia Windows and Doors was founded in 2008 and is considered a pioneer in fiberglass window and door
manufacturing. Serving markets across North America, Cascadia manufactures window, window wall, door, and sliding systems that minimize heat loss and protect against extreme weather conditions. The company relies on hardware technology from Roto. Maximum corrosion protection for all components played an important role in the decision, as did the proven functional reliability of Roto hardware.
Most recently, the Canadian company was looking for an optimal hardware solution for its Universal Series™ fiberglass profiles that would be dependable under consistent, heavy use in public buildings, such as schools or hospitals. The goal was to achieve a flush appearance while utilizing hardware that was suitable for inward and outward opening windows, as Cascadia wanted to avoid making any profile changes in production.
The solution: A North American crank handle from the Roto Casement & Awning range combined with the concealed hinge side from the Roto NX European Tilt&Turn product range. The combination of the two components enables a flush appearance that can be used universally for inward and outward opening windows, and offers three-dimensional adjustability, streamlining installation and adjustment both at the factory and onsite. The new hardware solution also allows the production of windows that are up to 60% larger.
The close technical coordination between Cascadia and Roto was crucial to their success. Detailed tests were carried out by both partners to ensure compatibility of the hardware with the special tolerances of the fiberglass profile. “Roto draws on extensive knowledge from different ‘window worlds’ and caters to all opening types and frame materials,” said Sander, emphasizing this success story. “International experience leads to customer-specific, innovative product concepts such as the one developed with Cascadia.”
Roto supports its customers worldwide in designing efficient processes. Joanna Skalbaniok, Roto FTT Business Area Manager for Northeastern Europe, reported on the services available for Polish customers. For example preconfigured hardware sets for Roto Patio Alversa sliding patio doors, which simplify the customers’ logistics and reduce errors in installation.
Skalbaniok lists other services: “Roto FTT offers support with technical documentation, joint marketing and training initiatives, and tailored hardware and weatherseal solutions.” Her conclusion: “We create customized solutions that set our customers apart in the market, optimize order and warehouse processes, reduce error and waste rates, and speed up manufacturing and installation processes. From our partners’ perspective, we improve the efficiency of their processes, quality, and viability all at once.”
Efficiently manufactured custom windows and doors will be a central topic at the upcoming Fensterbau Frontale trade show in Nuernberg, Germany, explained Sander. He promised that the Roto City will offer an inspiring environment for this. He concluded his preview by stating: “Hardware and weatherseal technology for all frame materials and opening types, showcased in rooms typical of offices, hotels, other commercial premises, or homes, provide a glimpse of the future in building element construction. Roto FTT’s most important task in the coming year, is being very close to customers and providing customized support for their projects. We look forward on taking many exciting challenges.”
