Roto NX TiltFirst Technology with Wireless and Wired Sensors

The Roto NX TiltFirst technology offers a reliable solution that prevents a Tilt&Turn window from being opened completely, blocking access by children and unauthorized individuals. When the window handle is locked, the sash can only be tilted. With a key, the handle can then be turned upwards, releasing the lock and allowing the window to be opened completely. Once returned to the tilt position, the safety function is reactivated.

TiltFirst windows made of wood or vinyl can also be equipped with wireless sensors from the Roto Com-Tec range. These monitor the opening status of a window and can be accessed via smartphone from anywhere. Three versions are available: basic opening monitoring, detection of closed/tilted/turned positions, and monitoring with additional detection of vibrations or tilting, as may occur during a burglary attempt. All three sensors feature encrypted data transmission and long battery life for durability and security. With the widely used EnOcean wireless protocol, windows with Roto Com-Tec can be integrated into many common smart home systems.

The Roto E-Tec Control MVS system uses wired sensors in TiltFirst windows of all frame materials. In the event of a break-in attempt, the magnetic field is interrupted, and the concealed contact element alerts the alarm system.

The Roto E-Tec Control MTS concealed magnetic thermostat sensor, which can also be combined with TiltFirst, improves energy efficiency in smart home systems by signaling radiators and air conditioners when the window is open. These devices automatically regulate the temperature during ventilation and return to normal after the window is closed – a function that measurably reduces costs, especially in offices and hotels. This reliably saves energy, as sometimes users forget to adjust these systems manually.

The TiltFirst technology and sensors can be combined with both surface-mounted and concealed hinge sides. This includes the surface-mounted heavy-duty hinge Roto NX Power Hinge for Tilt&Turn windows made of wood with sash weights up to 441 lbs. (200 kg) and the concealed hinge Roto NX C concealed hinge side with sash rebate widths up to 5’7’’ (1,750 mm) and heights up to 9’8’’ (3,000 mm). In vinyl, the TiltFirt technology and sensors can be applied to sash weights up to 331 lbs. (150 kg) and, in wood, with load transfer and a rotation limiter, up to 397 lbs. (180 kg).

Any vinyl or wood Tilt&Turn window manufactured with Roto NX hardware can be retrofitted with TiltFirst technology and a wireless sensor from the Roto Com-Tec range. A TiltFirst window can also be converted back into a standard Tilt&Turn window. This allows professional installers to flexibly adapt windows they have manufactured with Roto NX to the changing needs of a building and its users.
