Roto North America Extends “Roto AL Designo STS” Hardware Product Range
Renowned manufacturers use the “Roto AL Designo” concealed hardware to produce aesthetically pleasing, yet robust, aluminum windows. Roto, global market leader in Tilt&Turn hardware, developed the “AL Designo STS” hardware specifically for flush profile systems with the V.01 frame groove. Demand for this product has grown constantly since its launch, allowing Roto to extend the range with the addition of Turn-Only hardware. This hardware can be used to produce extremely slim opening elements from a width of 9.8 in (250 mm) and a height of 20 in (520 mm) without any tilt depth restrictors.
The new Turn-Only hardware makes production both simple and efficient for manufacturers: when mounting the sash stay and pivot rest, the fitter drives in mounting wedges and inserts only one retaining screw. Due to the reduction of necessary components, Turn-Only hardware is extremely economical to work with.
The kinematics of “AL Designo STS,” which are optimized for flush profile systems, prevent collisions when opening a window sash or a ventilation flap up to a 100° angle, even with little clearance. Damping elements also reduce operating noise.
The punched parts of all components in the “AL Designo STS” range are made from 304 SST and meet the requirements of corrosion class 5 in accordance with DIN EN 1670. The new Turn-Only hardware has also been successfully certified in accordance with J/GT 125 and DIN EN 13126 part 8 class H3.
The new hinge side is compatible with many components from the “Roto AL” modular hardware system and various opening restrictors from Roto. Since it is already on show in the virtual “Roto City,” anyone who is interested can find the technical details on there and design hardware solutions tailored to their individual needs.
Users of the “AL Designo” concealed Tilt&Turn hardware only need a few additional components to flexibly work with different types of aluminum profiles using “AL Designo STS”, benefiting from efficient logistics as a result. “AL Designo” and “AL Designo ST” remain concealed, even in very slim profiles.
