Roto’s High-Demand ELA Opening Restrictor for Aluminum Windows
Roto’s ELA for aluminum windows is one of the most successful opening restrictors offered by Roto Frank Window & Door Technology (Roto FTT). Manufactured by Roto Aluvision, the ELA is operated via a secure handle and can be ordered after a quick viability test at Roto.
The opening restrictor has impressed many architects, investors, and fabricators through extensive application tests on various aluminum profile systems. This popular restrictor can be ordered for sash weights of up to 440 lbs. (200 kg) without the need for project-specific approval.
The ELA is available for both outward and inward opening windows that operate by turning. It can also be supplied for outward opening Side-Hung and Top-Hung windows following testing. The ELA that opens to a width of 89 mm meets the specifications for installation in elements that must prevent children from climbing through an open sash or opening it further.
In conjunction with TiltFirst technology and a lockable handle, when the cylinder is open, a user can turn the handle to the 90° position to open the sash to its final position and lock it. In this position, the sash is protected against slamming shut in windy conditions. The sash can only be fully unlocked and opened after releasing the locked handle when the window is closed. Key holders can turn the handle to the 180° position to release the opening restrictor for cleaning purposes. To return the window to its original position, simply switch the handle back to the locked position when the sash is closed, without needing the key. This prevents unauthorized people from fully opening the window.
Aluminum windows tested with one or two ELA opening restrictors can withstand 25,000 cycles and 3,750 locking and release cycles. All hardware components also meet the highest class of corrosion resistance requirements.
